Shaping a Better Future: Celltrion Releases 2024/25 Sustainability Report

2025.09.29

Celltrion has released its 2024/25 Sustainability Report, underscoring our drive to meet global standards in ESG management. The report highlights our ESG efforts and achievements across all areas, aligned with leading international disclosure standards.

Building on the foundations laid in previous reports, this year’s edition focuses on embedding ESG into every part of our business and driving stronger execution. Celltrion has proactively embraced global standards such as IFRS S1/S2 and ESRS, disclosing 10 priority ESG issues identified through a double materiality assessment—along with its strategies and measurable progress on each.

| Environmental

Celltrion is striving toward net-zero carbon emissions by 2045, driving a broad range of initiatives to cut greenhouse gas emissions. As a designated participant in the Korea Emissions Trading Scheme (K-ETS), Celltrion discloses its emissions transparently and operates an internal management system for emissions allowances.

In 2025, Celltrion once again disclosed its Scope 1 (direct), Scope 2 (indirect), and major Scope 3 (value chain) emissions, verified by the Korea Management Registrar (KMR), a third-party certifier designated by Korea’s Ministry of Environment.

Celltrion aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% from 2022 levels by 2030, on track for full elimination by 2045.

Celltrion also conducts Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) in accordance with ISO 14040 and 14044 standards, evaluating environmental impacts across the entire product lifecycle—from production to disposal. By 2025, Celltrion will expand LCAs to cover its entire product portfolio, with new products assessed within their launch year.

As part of these efforts, Celltrion is steadily transitioning to eco-friendly packaging—now applied to 71% of its products—and continues to advance sustainable packaging design that minimizes environmental impact.

In 2024, Celltrion achieved its vision of building a portfolio of 11 biosimilar products—one year ahead of its 2025 target—thereby broadening access to essential treatments worldwide by offering cost-effective alternatives with comparable efficacy to originator drugs. At the same time, Celltrion is advancing its pipeline of innovative therapeutics, including ADCs and multispecific antibodies.

Celltrion also promotes sustainable supply chains through its ESG policy built on the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI).

This policy outlines standards across five areas—labor & human rights, health & safety, environment, ethics, and management systems—and applies to all partners under contract with Celltrion.

Celltrion defines its key partners as those that represent approximately 80% of its total procurement spend and is progressively expanding the number of suppliers subject to ESG evaluations across its supply chain. Through this process, Celltrion actively supports its partners in strengthening their ESG management capabilities by facilitating risk assessments, implementing improvement initiatives, and sharing ESG-related best practices.

| Governance

To enhance board effectiveness, Celltrion introduced a formal board evaluation system in 2024. This initiative strengthens transparency and accountability in decision-making while advancing a more responsible governance framework.

All board committees are composed entirely of independent outside directors, reinforcing transparency and independence in decision-making. The company also renewed its ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management System) certification in response to growing stakeholder expectations regarding compliance and ethical management. In parallel, Celltrion continues to strengthen its overall compliance framework.

Celltrion remains committed to advancing a globally aligned ESG strategy—expanding access to high-quality treatments and driving responsible business practices that contribute to a more sustainable future.
